This was the first problem I see with DeviantArt as a whole: You can't change your username unless if you pay for a Core subscription (whether it's a yearly $50.00 or for a three-month subscription which is $15.00). Not changing your username for FREE? WTF?! But furthermore, if paying money for a website like DeviantArt to do even the most basic of tasks was anything worth of praise that other competitors allowed you to do for FREE.Ģ. This was when I gave Core a second chance to see where I would want to go with this and if it did anything of value. It wasn't long until I decided to change my username from atheurer1 to ObscuredTitan in October 2018 because I was getting sick of my old username and wanted a better and more original name. Having to pay $15 instead of $8 or $7 just for the same stuff we'll have from all the years DeviantArt has been going through just shows that the site isn't willing to let the users have a steady relationship on the long run. However, $50 for practically the same features is ludicrous. Not that it was perfect but being around $30 would've been plausible. It wouldn't be so bad if DeviantArt had not bumped up the price if it's going to have the same features and material that Premium Membership had previously. That being said, Premium/Core Membership didn't appeal to me for a while and it still hasn't been doing it for me now. It seemed like I payed $8 for a membership on DeviantArt because people do that? Because I wanted more attention? Have more "privileges"? What? I don't know.
